Standards of Ethical Behaviour

Calvary congregation upholds the Lutheran Church of Australia and New Zealand’s (LCANZ) standards of ethical behaviour. These standards relate to our personal behaviour, pastoral care, caring for children, communications, and financial and administrative matters. They are underpinned by Scripture and church policy and are applicable to all aspects of the life of the church.

Calvary congregation is committed to providing a safe church environment for children and young people.

Children are a precious gift from God, with special vulnerabilities, and they are to be protected from all forms of abuse. The LCA has no tolerance for child abuse in any form and affirms that its people have an important responsibility to care for children and to keep them safe.”

Calvary congregation is committed to reflecting God’s love through the way we treat each other and those who come into contact with our church, especially children and others in vulnerable circumstances. To safeguard children and vulnerable adults our staff and volunteers are required to provide the relevant checks and training before they commence involvement in our ministries.

We uphold a culture of having safe people in positions of responsibility, providing safe programs for people to participate in, and providing safe places where activities and ministries are held.

At Calvary we acknowledge Domestic Abuse and the seriousness and impact it can have on families and children.
